The Ralvern Standard: British Made Furniture
Many modern sofas are filled with cardboard and other cheap materials.
We do things differently. Our frames are glue stapled and left to set for a stronger result. We use a mix of hard and soft woods that are a solid frame for life guaranteed, ensuring your furniture stands the test of time.
Solid Hardwood Frames
We use a mix of hard and soft wood frames that are a solid frame for life guaranteed. We never use chipboard, ensuring your furniture stands the test of time.
Traditional Coil Springs
We use traditional hand-tied coil springs that offer superior support and comfort compared to cheap foam blocks found in high-street sofas.
Luxury Fabrics
We partner with the world’s finest mills, including Cristina Marrone, Ross, and Warwick, plus exclusive ranges from Linwood and Jim Dickens
Expert Reupholstery Specialists in Staffordshire
Is your favourite chair looking tired but it’s too comfortable to throw away? Don’t replace it—revive it.
We are luxury reupholstery specialists. We strip pieces back to the frame, replacing worn springs and padding before covering them in the finest fabrics. From Parker Knoll to Ercol restoration, we breathe new life into beloved furniture.
Meet our team
The Ralvern legacy is steered by Chris and Simon, our master craftsmen who oversee every project. They ensure that whether we are creating a new suite or providing furniture restoration, we maintain the “old-fashioned customer care” that sets us apart from other Staffordshire furniture makers.
Common Questions About Our Bespoke Furniture
How long has Ralvern been in business?
We have been crafting bespoke furniture and providing professional upholstery services since 1946. That is over 75 years of experience, knowledge, and skill built into every single piece we make.
Are you a family-run business?
Yes. Ralvern has been family-owned and operated since the very beginning. The same values that guided our founders – quality, honesty, and genuine craftsmanship – are the same values that drive everything we do today. Nothing about that has changed.
Where is your workshop based?
While our showroom is in Cannock, we work with clients from across Staffordshire, the West Midlands, and beyond. We offer a collection and delivery service for customers further afield – contact us to discuss your location.
Can I visit the workshop before committing?
Absolutely – and we actively encourage it. Our factory showroom in Cannock is open to the public and we love showing visitors around the workshop. There is nothing quite like seeing bespoke furniture being crafted by hand to understand the real difference in quality.
Do you work with interior designers and trade clients?
Yes. We work with a growing number of interior designers, property developers, and trade clients across the region. If you have a project in mind, get in touch to discuss trade pricing and lead times.
What makes Ralvern different from other upholsterers?
Three things set us apart: our heritage (over 75 years of craft), our open workshop (you can see exactly how your furniture is made), and our uncompromising approach to quality. We never cut corners on materials, construction, or finish – and we never will.
