terms and policies

At Ralvern Upholstery, we are committed to being open and transparent about how we collect, use and protect your data. Since 1946, our family-run business has been built on trust and craftsmanship, and we apply those same values to your privacy and security.

Our Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 20 May 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to the purchase of any goods or services from Ralvern Upholstery Ltd. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Who We Are

Ralvern Upholstery Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a specialist manufacturer of bespoke furniture and a provider of professional reupholstery services. We are a family-run business established in 1946, registered in England and Wales. Our workshop and showroom are located at 19 Martindale, Hawks Green, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 7XN.

2. Bespoke Orders and Personalisation

As our furniture is made-to-order or bespoke to your specific requirements (including your choice of fabric, size, and cushion filling), these items are classed as “personalised” under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  • Cancellations: Once your order has been confirmed and the manufacturing process has begun in our workshop, bespoke items cannot be cancelled or returned unless they are faulty.
  • Specifications: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all measurements and specifications provided are correct. We cannot be held responsible for furniture that does not fit into your property due to access restrictions.

3. Reupholstery Services

For reupholstery projects involving your own furniture:

  • Assessment: We will assess the frame and internal components upon arrival at our workshop. If unexpected structural repairs are required, we will notify you and agree on any additional costs before proceeding.
  • Fabric: While we offer a wide range of luxury fabrics, if you provide your own fabric (COM), it must meet current UK Fire Safety Regulations. We reserve the right to refuse materials that do not comply with these standards.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • Quotes: All quotes are valid for 30 days.
  • Deposits: A deposit (typically 50%) is required to secure your order and allow us to purchase materials.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to or upon delivery of your furniture.

5. Lead Times and Delivery

  • Estimates: We will provide an estimated lead time for your order. While we strive to meet these dates, they are estimates only and may be affected by fabric supply chains or workshop capacity.
  • Access: You must ensure there is adequate access for our delivery team. Please measure doorways, hallways, and stairwells carefully before ordering.
  • Inspection: You are required to inspect your furniture upon delivery. Any issues must be noted on the delivery note or reported to us within 24 hours.

6. Guarantee and Warranty

We take immense pride in our craftsmanship and the quality of our materials.

  • Frames: We offer a lifetime guarantee on our Sapele hardwood frames against structural failure (subject to normal domestic use).
  • Materials: All other materials (springs, foam, and fillings) are covered by a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Exclusions: This guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, neglect, or accidental damage.

7. Intellectual Property

All designs, images, and content on the Ralvern Upholstery website are the property of Ralvern Upholstery Ltd. No part of our website or designs may be reproduced without our express written permission.

8. Governing Law
